City of Glass

   Clary's life has gone even further from normal, if such a thing is even possible. Now she finds herself caught in the middle of a war, Valentine has created an army, and is now threatening the city of Alicante, and she might finally be able to help her mother who is still in a coma. Together with her newfound friends, she has been tossed out into a completely new life, a life where survival is no longer a cerntainty.
   Cassandra Clare has once again surprised me (sometimes I believe that the whole series is just a long line of plot twists), This time the plot twists kind of toppled to the side of "too much", though not far enough to become bad, it's just something I'm not quite fond of, and it's not one of my favourite books in the series so far.
   The characters, however, remain relatable and amusing, beautifully described and natural. The storyline is still as interesting as in the beginning, and when I opened the third book, there was no way to predict the end of it. I've never been fond of books that are too predictable.
   I'd still recommend this book, and the entire series so far, to every single fiction or fantasy lover out there!

City of Ashes

   Clary wishes her life could go back to normal, to before her brother turned up out of the blue, before her mother was in a coma, when life was actually normal. But she can't go back, and her newfound friends make it worth the struggles of life as a Shadowhunter. Jace, Alec and Isabelle are loyal, fun (though oftentimes annoying, especially Jace) and she finds great company among them.
   Though soon enough, it becomes increadibly clear that something's brewing in the world of Downworlders. Creatures are being found, drained of blood, and this time, the vampires are not to blame.
   When it came to reading this book, I actully went about it in a way that's completely new to me: I read it as an audio book (yes, I have never read an entire audio book before). The experience was excellent, and I found that listening to the story gave just as vivid images throughout the story as reading it myself would have given.
   Cassandra Clare is quite the queen of twists, which becomes evident several times throughout the book. She manages to balance perfectly on the fine line between too many and too few twists, and the characters remain just as lovable and relatable as always throughout the twists. The character developement is evident already in the beginning of the second book, which gives way for a richer experience, and new characters are presented in a suiting pace. The plot, with a cheesy, romantic sub-plot, remains as excellent as in the first book.
   Highly recommended for any fantasy fan!

City of Bones

Clary Fray sees things she's not supposed to; vampires, werewolves and demons walking the streets of New York. After a night at a local club, she gets tossed into an adventure she would never had been able to imagine, finding another world within her own; a world filled with magic.
The story is excellently told, the caracters whitty, unique and memorable (my personal favourite is Simon, so far (I intend to read the rest of the series) ). The chapters lenghts vary, and here and there a few jokes have been placed, which makes it easy to find the books both funny and otherwise entertaining.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series, and would highly recommend that you read it (unless you have already ^^ )
