The Modern Woman

The modern woman, she needs nothing
No husband or children to bring happiness
all she needs is her own mind and heart
Nothing more and nothing less

The modern woman, she stands alone
Bliss surely fills her powerful mind
her own life, her own home, a career
She’s strong, independent, loving and kind

The modern woman, she guides herself
through storming waters and a rising sun
having no idea what she’s started

Our awaited journey has at last begun

Here

I want you here
here until the Earth breaks apart beneath our feet
I want you here
here until the world shatters and we are all that’s left
I want you here
like a flower craves the presence of sunlight
I want you here
like nothing I’ve wanted before

I want you here
here until my soul leaves my body behind to rest
I want you here
here until all that’s known has disappeared from us
I want you here
like a galaxy craves the presence of stars
I want you here

like nothing I’ve ever wanted

If Only I Could

Things I would change
There are so many
I would smile more if I could
I'd laugh and I'd talk
I'd even sing, I'm sure I would
There are things I'd change
If only I could

I'd change how I act,
In so many ways
I would help the others,
I know I would do
Reach out, and help them
I know that it's true

I'd change my ideas
to fit in a better world
Where all people have a voice
a simple way to just be heard
I'd change all of this
If only I could

Be

I want to write some poetry
some words to move your heart
I want to change your thoughts
and break your mind apart

I want to move some part of you
make an impression of some kind
Make something that wipes you away
leaves your past behind

I want to make you see the world
Just like the universe I see
I want to change the world a bit
make it better to be

Give Everything

I give you everything,
time, money, peace of mind
Whenever you worry,
I tell you to leave it behind

I give you everything,
love, security, all my trust
I'm concerned I've given all
for life there is no lust

I give you all and more
more than I can endure
And you keep dissapointing me
it's more than this, it has to be

I gave you all I had
friendship, a hand to hold
I'm left just feeling bad
and I fear I'm going mad

I gave you my everything
my broken heart and all
the one thing that I have left
is the sensation of a fall

Opportunity; A Short Narrative

I have never really understood people who are complaining about there being no opportunities for them to do anything, learn something or even find work. Especially youth in the western world, we are very entitled. In most of the western world there are more opportunities than there has ever been before.
Take your phone for example. You might even be reading this on one right now, scrolling through the words I've so carefully typed out to reach you. But I bet you use it for other things, don't you? Using a phone you can do almost everything.
Using just your phone, you could read a novel, or even write one yourself. You could make a whole new collection of poetry, shaping your words into something completely unique to the world. You could learn a foreign language or connect with another person, no matter where they are in the world. You can share images and words about your life with everyone on the planet. You can learn about everything from history to psychology to religion, just by typing a few letters. You could find a new apartment, a new job or new friends with only a few clicks. You can share your knowledge with everyone alive, put focus on whatever you find to be important.
I have never understood youth who claim they don't have any opportunities. When something as simple as a phone offers you a hundred thousand different things to try, read or learn, why wouldn't you take those possibilities and make them into experiences?

Give

If there was no such thing as possession
Do you think the world would still be the same?
Would people still admire Kanye,
who has only money to his name?
Would you look up to the same people
wanting their riches and fame?

If admiration was based on actions
would you change who you admire?
Would money, fame and looks
still be your only desire?
Or would you think for once about
what the rest of the people require?

When it's time, your bill is due,
will you be charged based on what you did?
Or just on the things you owned
when you were an adult and as a kid?
Listen close, and you shall hear,
an interesting change I bid.

If we change what we value
for a month, a week or even a day
Would we still view ourself the same
and think the same way?

Where not owning things is misery
In a material world we live,
And everyone seeks fame and glory
But please, instead of "money" desire "to give"

Poet

I wouldn't say the things I create
take a lot of skill
But I'm not like most poets
creating just by will
I create by purest passion
nothing more or less
Since while most poets are clean
I'm an utter mess
My mind races swiftly
from time to time
I find myself accused by many
comitting no crime
In my head the voices shout
sounding far and clear
And I sigh softly knowing
salvation can't be near

Wise

It's pulling me under
this sleep deprivation
In intelligence and art
lies my dedication
Life belongs to artristy
was my revelation

I'm exhausted with joy
this brain of mine
Bursting with new energy
crossing the line
My talents are many
let them shine

I break my back working
shoulders and hips
Words of great wisdom
leave my dry lips
But this wisdom of mine
life away chips

What Happened

We can't go outside without fear,
suddenly there are so many insults to hear
We can't display an opinion, without being told that we're wrong
you can get in trouble just for singing a simple song
If you're black, gay or transgender, your life must be tough
and if you're a Muslim, you're really living in the rough
Everyone is scared of everyone, and I'm left to wonder;
what happened?

Transgender people can't use the bathroom
if you're a woman, there's nothing you don't have to groom
Gays can't hold hands, or adopt a child
Global warmth is upon us, no one cares that the weather is mild
If you're a Muslim, you're a threat to national security
And you're prude and lame if you stick to your purity
Being politically correct is all the rage
In fact, the word "lame" shouldn't be on this page

The Earth is dying, most people don't have a clue
To escape we take LSD, smoke weed or sniff glue
We cling to the idea that love conquers all
We're in complete denial of our imminent fall

What happened to us,
I don't have a clue
But I think about it a lot,
do you?

You

You, a lonely rose in a garden of weeds,
You, a ray of sunshine during the hardest storm,
You, what light is left in the world
You, calming me when the universe crumbles
You
There will always be you

Not at all

The stories, the drama, it's all been done before
Why should I even get exited anymore
As a crumble, as I fall
I think about you not at all

I have forgotten your hair
The earrings you wear
Your soft and loving gaze
The way you moved with grace
Your voice, your sweet embrace, your gorgeous eyes
The pain on your face as we said our goodbyes
The tattoo on your chest
And all of the rest

Nameless III

We fade to black
Like shadows we fall
Through crack after crack
We don't feel at all

Our humanity died
The day we were born
Like minds who have lied
Our souls were torn

Dusk has risen
Darkness creeps near
My mind is my prison
I can only feel fear

Nameless II

Our shadows still remain
Forged into their minds
Like an un-bleachable stain
Nothing will clean us out
Even the most harsh rain

Nothing lasts forever
But we are not forgotten
Not now, not ever
But when we decide to leave
You'll have no memory, whatsoever

Nameless I

Please, can you see my slowly dying light
You stay with me, because of fright
Watch me slowly burst into flame
I start to wonder, why you came

Take me to a place where my heart isn't beatin'
I'm stuck in a world that I don't believe in
Hold me close and make me free
Cut my eyes open, so I can see

I call it Heaven

There is a place, I call it Heaven
Where I can be whoever I need
There is a place, I call it Heaven
Where creativity is the only greed

There is a place, I call it Heaven
Where I hide within my walls
There is a place, I call it Heaven
Where I hear another world's calls

There is a place, I call it Heaven
Where nothing is unreal anymore
There is a place, I call it Heaven
Where meremaids swim ashore

Where pirates fight their battles
Where demons rule our Hell
Where elves run through the woods
And Quasimodo rings his bell

Where dwarves run their mines
Where dragons rule the sky
Where witches enchant and curse
And where old secrets lie

That's where I'll be
If anyone ever looks for me
My own peace of Heaven
Deep within my mind
