Opportunity; A Short Narrative

I have never really understood people who are complaining about there being no opportunities for them to do anything, learn something or even find work. Especially youth in the western world, we are very entitled. In most of the western world there are more opportunities than there has ever been before.
Take your phone for example. You might even be reading this on one right now, scrolling through the words I've so carefully typed out to reach you. But I bet you use it for other things, don't you? Using a phone you can do almost everything.
Using just your phone, you could read a novel, or even write one yourself. You could make a whole new collection of poetry, shaping your words into something completely unique to the world. You could learn a foreign language or connect with another person, no matter where they are in the world. You can share images and words about your life with everyone on the planet. You can learn about everything from history to psychology to religion, just by typing a few letters. You could find a new apartment, a new job or new friends with only a few clicks. You can share your knowledge with everyone alive, put focus on whatever you find to be important.
I have never understood youth who claim they don't have any opportunities. When something as simple as a phone offers you a hundred thousand different things to try, read or learn, why wouldn't you take those possibilities and make them into experiences?

  1. Bra sagt! Har tänkt på detta själv också, hur människor inte inser allt som finns rakt framför ögonen på dem. Möjligheterna finns bara man tar tag i saken!
